Industry & Commercial Activity
Chile is one of the most stable, peaceful, and wealthy Latin American country, and the market oriented economy, plays a significant part in this. Their economy is controlled naturally instead of being run by the government. Chile also has high global trade resulting in strong financial institutions. This makes Chile a very strong country with a pretty successful economy. The mining industry is one of the largest located in Chile. The mining process happens in the dry Atacama Desert, and is one of the highest copper producers in South America. 32.8% of Chile's land is dedicated to the industry making it really significant to its economy.
Trade & Foreign Country Partners
Chile has many main foreign trade partners including their export partners: China. The US, Japan, South Korea, and Brazil, and their import partners: China, The US, Brazil, Argentina, and Germany. The more higher valued products that Chile exports are copper, fish products, chemicals, paper and pulp, and wine. The materials that Chile needs from their partners consist of petroleum products, chemicals, electrical & communication equipment, machinery vehicles, and natural gas.
GDP & Employment
GDP is the total amount of value of an entire economy activity within a country. The GDP growth rate is increasing by 1.5% which has lowered since 2015 (2.3%) this ranks Chile as 170, comparing it’s rates to the worlds. The GDP per capita (PPP), purchasing power parity, measures the prices in of a specific item in different areas. This measurement about an average of $24,600 since 2017 which is ranked higher than Chile’s growth rate.
